About Brian Neller:

Hi! I’m Brian, your host for this evening.

After living the apparent dream (house, business, two cars & a house full of condiments) I was no closer to being satisfied & living fulfilled in my life. Living day to day with a mundane job, surrounded by image driven worker bees I was looking for an alternative to the daily grind. Circus school! Giving up the comfortable life I ran off to CircoArts in NZ. Two years, many life lessons and injuries later I had earned a fancy piece of paper to stick on my wall, letting people know that I was qualified to play (quite the unuseful paper, but it looks pretty).

An interest in fire had become a passion for play.

Since circus school I have travelled teaching and performing around the world. Germany, Italy, Austria, England, Wales, Switzerland, USA, Canada, South Africa, Japan, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia & New Zealand. Meeting, learning from and teaching alongside some of the worlds greatest object manipulators I have explored the world doing what I love.

Being a tech geek I love dissecting patterns, breaking down what is available into simple form and rebuilding it again as all encapuslating concepts. I love teaching as it solidifies what I know by sharing it.

I will be teaching all the things! Mainly poi and double staff, maybe even a talk. Many of my workshops have been recreated to cover a broad spectrum of toys as conceptually they are the same across most objects.

I hope you will come and join my workshops 😀

Turning Up To the Workshop

Description:

Flowers are beautiful. If you have watched fire then you have probably seen people creating flowers. This is a flowers workshop for all things flowery, and a very good starting point to make your spinning look great.

To make it difficult, there are 64 types of flowers not including the quantity of petals or positioning / geometric shape. The workshop however is not difficult. We will break flowers down into simple patterns so that you can create any flower you can think of. The practices in this workshop will also help to create a freedom in your movement.
